The Institute of Materials Research at the GKSS Research Centre is
advertising a

PhD position

in the field of modeling and numerical simulation of cyclic plasticity and
low cycle fatigue (LCF) life prediction of the engineering alloy Al 2024.

Objectives: The topic will focus on the numerical analyses and FEM
simulations of failure for different specimen geometries under stress- and
displacement controlled cyclic loading. The work includes the analysis of
existing experimental data. Cooperation with the department of
experimental material science for further mechanical and micromechanical
investigations of the alloy with respect to damage characterisation is
envisaged. Based on the experimental data the model verification and cross
identification of parameters will be made.

Requirements: Diploma or master in numerical mechanics, mechanical
engineering, mathematics, or a related field within the past five years.
Experience in numerical modeling of material behavior, and basic knowledge
of the commercial FE-code ABAQUS and the programming language FORTRAN is
required.

不是纯力学,但相关,学过不少力学的 $郁闷$
