Speaker Profile
Dr. Youssef Elhaoussine is an Assistant Professor at the BEIJING NORMAL-HONG KONG BAPTIST UNIVERSITY, Faculty of Business and Management, Department of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Corporate Entrepreneurship from Sun Yat-sen University, a Master's in Marketing Management from Cranfield University, and a BSc (Hons) in Applied and Analytical Chemistry from Edinburgh Napier University. His teaching focuses on business ethics, sustainability, green business, and industrial management. With over five years of industry experience as a production manager, he oversaw manufacturing operations across China and Europe. Dr. Elhaoussine is a member of the Asia Pacific Marketing Academy, where he serves as Co-Chair for International Development. He also emphasizes teaching innovation, aiming to incorporate practical context into the classroom through case studies and custom online content. Additionally, he works on developing methods to integrate AI technologies into his classes and enhance students' independence and self-study. Finally, he has published two case books showcasing Chinese companies' business development. These case book projects are student-oriented, involving students as co-authors of the case studies.

Content Brief
The lecture provides MBA students with a comprehensive guide to business case studies. It begins by explaining how cases are designed around core business problems to develop analytical and decision-making skills. It then explores how analyzing multiple cases can reveal broader industry patterns and trends. Finally, it introduces the case study as a qualitative research methodology, outlining the process from framing a research question to drawing insights, positioning it as an ideal tool for rigorous and relevant MBA theses and applied research projects.
