Job Title:                          China Chemistry Project Manager

Purpose of the Job
Support discovery chemistry operations within Asian, primarily in China

KRA

        Support of all on-going DCR&T operation in China.

        Key contact for all Lilly collaborations in China. The project associate will coordinate all logistics and communications between the various project leaders at Lilly and their counterparts at the respective collaboration sites.

        Key communication contact with all necessary internal support functions (e.g. GSM, Analytical, LRL Transportation, Procurement, Legal, etc.) that interact with our China based partners

        Helps coordinate cross functional research activities in China

        Provide support for integration with Lilly Singapore

        The project manager will report to the DCR&T ISE in China and help to coordinate on efforts that influence all third party collaborations

Job Requirement

        B.S. or M.S. in scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering); major in synthetic organic chemistry desired but not required.  
        Excellent communication and organizational skills.
        Bi-lingual capabilities (English and Mandarin)
        Strong IT background including infrastructure for data processing, storage, transfer, and security.
        Strong project management experience including a demonstrated ability to improve efficiency and productivity within an organization.
        Experience with global supply chain
        Proficiency using ISIS for Excel, ISIS Base, ISIS Draw, and MS Office products.  
        Experience working at a major pharmaceutical company (MNC) preferred
o        This includes an understanding of the following:
1.        An understanding of Intellectual Property protection
2.        Proper notebook documentation and laboratory procedures
3.        Basic Safety Training


Other Information
This position will be located in Shanghai, China.  International travel, primarily to US and other Asian countries is to be expected.
