英语写作中级提高技巧：给参加与不参加我口语培训的朋友们的礼物

英语写作有许多不同技巧，对于不同的同学来说，什么是口语，什么是书面语，都比较难于分清。在这里我想就自己的一些写作的技巧与方法和大家一起分享，并且拿出我自己看的一些书上的内容来与大家讨论一样，以便于所有并不参加我的口语一对一辅导的同学可以自己自学。

8 _8 C* b7 \, ]2 G口语与书面语不同在于，口语需要的词汇量要小得多。我们初中到高中一直学的都是英语中的口语，对于书面语几乎没有怎么学。这样造成的结果就是写作起来全是口语词汇和用法。在网上看到有的同学敢于拿出自己的文章给其他同学批评，感觉是一件好事。但其实好多问题都是从一开始就可以避免的。

! w& p( g- c$ J9 Y我在这里争取每个星期写一点自己的东西，所以需要花一些时间，请大家见谅。

2 e7 I+ q  {" C/ r1 d3 i4 f中国人写作第一大问题就是不够简洁。我第一次写文章时写到the step of time is going faster，英语老师读后立即把它改成了the time is going faster。我问他为什么不能这样写，不能让这种有修辞的方法存在，他就说，这是多余。换句话说，我们中国人认为是好的修饰方法，在英语里是不能随便滥用的。用后只会画蛇添足。

我来举几个常用例子，希望对大家简化写作有启示。这些例子都来自于我对一些看过的书上的句子的总结和归纳，抛砖引玉之用。

1)        It will be our aim to ensure proper health care for each and every one of the Chinese people.

& \. m6 T. ^3 f  o% {- p& Z
2)        This article will help you master the basic skills of good writing

Changed to:  This article will help you master the skills of good writing.

3)        The Search of the forest that they conducted was entirely complete
  I( G; O9 u* K. G) a% e
2 A) ^# m9 b. m& ]- D5 D: AChanged to : The search of the forest was complete
: l! Z! C8 Q1 h) qOr         They conducted a complete search of the forest

请注意，定语从句一般只用于口语中，写作也有但不要事事都用此句型。因为说话时考虑时间短，则用定语从句较简单，但写作时，这种定语从句都可以换成其它方式代替，简单而好看。

4)        While we were playing table tennis, she started her exercises that lasted all morning.

2 x6 D+ L* [3 q# Q  B4 e. M! }注意，WHILE表时间时的从句，也是一种冗长，只有当用while表转折来描述客观事物时，用在经济写作中才是书面语。所以一般改成如下

4 B  K7 O& V' [* R/ p1 `3 u% |% ADuring our table tennis she started her exercises that lasted all morning.

5)        The wonderful book, which is written in 5 chapters, described a story that took place in the Middle Ages.

5 o+ o. m, b4 [% A& y7 a这里要注意，遇到定语从句就多想想能否代替一下。最好改成

The five-chapter book has told a story set in the Middle Ages.
& K$ f) e6 X3 z$ L& i
2 F3 @* b9 i1 ~" E6 ]9 Y) l6 W* k% Q
) Q4 P) r: y0 V, W6 j5 q和我给大家培训口语时一样，结束时我都会留几个小作业。这里留几句话，请大家来试试能不能改得简洁一些，但意思不变。当然，只能改得更漂亮，不能改丑了：）
