Bachelor Programme International Management
From the winter semester 2010/2011 on, the Bachelor Programme International Management will start at the Faculty of Business Management and Social Sciences. The language of instruction is exclusvely English. Students intensively study one more foreign business language and specialize in international management. A study semester abroad at one of our more than 100 partner universities in the world is integrated.
The duration of studies is six semesters and the programme covers 180 ECTS credits altogether. This programme follows our bilingual course International Business and Management which was established already in 1999 and currently updated.

• The language of instruction is exclusively English.
• The specialization „International Management“ covers six modules. Students choose these from the following eight modules offered: International Human Resource Management, International Marketing, English 5 (Advanced Business Conversation/Negotiation), Cultural Management, International Logistics, Controlling, Corporate Finance, Global Economics.
• Study semester abroad. Students spend their fifth semester at one of the faculty’s partner universities abroad. They choose advanced modules in the field of business management or economics covering 15 ECTS credit points as their specialization abroad and electives covering another 15 ECTS credits.
• Foreign Languages. Students can select their foreign resp. business language from the following offer: French, Spanish, Dutch, Russian; international students choose German. Chinese, Italian and Polish can be taken as additional languages. It is planned to integrate these into the regular offer of foreign languages.
• Block Seminars. Two block seminars, at least one of them with an international focus, will be completed in the course of studies.
• Preparatory courses for Accounting resp. Controlling, Mathematics and the foreign languages are offered. These are mandatory if students need to widen their prior knowledge.

• Areas of Employment. International Management is a study programme with an international orientation and clear focus on the practical application of business and management skills. Graduates will master major business subjects and are specialized in International Management. They will have acquired additional essential key qualifications such as soft skills, will be multilingual and benefit from their intercultural competence. These qualifications meet companies' requirements for internationally trained junior business managers and prepare students for management jobs in nationally or internationally operating organisations as well as in industrial, trade or services businesses. The Bachelor’s programme has repeatedly been ranked top in the employability ratings by the renowned German organisation CHE. Graduates have the option to proceed to a Master's programme at a German or foreign university.
• Admission. The programme starts in the winter semester (September).
• Admission Requirements:
1. Evidence of Higher Education Entry Qualification
(German “Allgemeine Hochschulreife“ or “Fachhochschulreife“ or equivalent
certificate)
2. Evidence of a 6-week business placement which has to be completed before the start of studies
3. For applicants whose mother tongue is not English: evidence of ability to study in English by means of an internationally recognised certificate; please see also: wiso.fh-osnabrueck.de/ibm-bae.html
4. Basic German language competence is requested from foreign applicants.

Applicants from non-European countries are requested to submit their application papers by April 30th.

• Costs. Tuition fees of 500 Euro per semester are charged by the Federal State of Lower Saxony. Additionally, all students enrolled at the Fachhochschule Osnabrück, University of Applied Sciences have to pay semester charges of approx. 250 Euro mainly for the Student Welfare Services. These fees, however, include a range of reductions in the public sector, for example free use of the regional public transport facilities.
