Direct Airside Transit
The following national passport holders require visas to transit the United Kingdom, even if they intend only airside transit and will not pass through UK Immigration.
AFGHANISTAN, ALBANIA, ALGERIA, BELARUS, BURMA, BURUNDI, ANGOLA, BANGLADESH, CAMEROON PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA, COLOMBIA, ECUADOR, ERITREA, ETHIOPIA, GAMBIA, GHANA, INDIA, IRAN, IRAQ, IVORY COAST, KENYA, LEBANON, LIBERIA, MACEDONIA, MOLDOVA, NEPAL, NIGERIA, PAKISTAN, PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY, RWANDA, SENEGAL, SIERRA LEONE, SOMALIA, SRI LANKA, SUDAN, TANZANIA, TURKEY, TRNC, UGANDA, VIETNAM, YUGOSLAVIA, ZAIRE (formerly Republic of Congo), ZIMBABWE.
Exemptions to this rule are made in the case of :
Holders of Common Format EU residence permits issued under Council Regulations (EC) No 1030/2002;
click here to see example.
Holders of valid Category D visas issued by EU/EEA member states which are valid for more than 3 months;
Holders of valid US/Canadian visas who are travelling to the US/Canada and also hold a ticket that at some point takes them to the US/Canada;
Those travelling from the US/Canada, irrespective of their itinerary, providing they are transiting the UK less than six months after the date they last entered the US/Canada with a valid visa
Holders of USA 1-551 Permanent Residence Cards (Green cards) issued on or after 21 April 1998;
Holders of Canadian Permanent Residence cards issued on or after 28 June 2002;
Holders of diplomatic or official passports issued by the People's Republic of China;符合该条件的中国护照转机时候免签
Holders of diplomatic or official passports issued by the government of India.
If you fall into one of the Exempt categories you may benefit from the TWOV concession (see above for further details).
Other passport holders listed above and transiting the UK airside should complete form VAF3 (former IM2G) and submit the following documents to this office
(a) Valid passport including German visa (minimum validity 6 months)
(b) One passport photographs, we DO NOT ACCEPT scanned photographs.
(c) Your confirmed tickets to, and onward from, the UK
(d) Visa for onward destination (if appropriate).
On occasion you may be asked to submit additional documents.
PLEASE NOTE If you intend to change airports in the United Kingdom you will require a visit visa (see visit Visa requirements).
If you hold a "Aufenthaltstitel" (see att.) you do not need a visa (Holders of valid Category D visas issued by EU/EEA member states which are valid for more than 3 months;)
