villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.  The

: c. z0 `3 M5 lbought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish,

( u6 h8 R1 \' Z7 {2 o" ttheir effort.

  \' M+ e* n5 Q; O5 }/ Pannounced that he would now pay $20 for each  one. This renewed
the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys
again.   But soon the supply diminished even further and
: w& }5 d: H8 O' u/ g  ethey were ever harder to catch, so people started going back to
  V. g* n$ I4 u% Ytheir farms and forgot about monkey catching. The man increased his
% E3 F) }8 S6 s0 r! _price to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so
7 O: X' r7 w7 `8 o. A; {sparse that it was an effort to even see a monkey, much
less catch one.

announced that he would buy monkeys for $50! However, since he had to
go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his
behalf.

6 c4 f4 `  o+ t1 L) o: qwas away the assistant told the villagers. 'Look at all these monkeys

% ]1 g( O% F0 ^# k5 z$ pyou at $35 each and when the man returns from the city, you can sell
them to him for $50 each.'

The villagers
1 G7 O0 h4 ^8 @0 y5 Vrounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys. They never
& v5 `5 c% \+ wsaw the man nor his assistant again and once again there were monkeys
( X! P# I6 e* T) ^, L: X5 Reverywhere.
