to the forest, and started catching them. The man

they became harder to catch, so the villagers stopped
: P9 {# _3 U- `, X0 j, etheir effort.

6 a6 Q2 v8 X- s, X" O5 I; CThe man then
) g+ [. }# u$ U# }announced that he would now pay $20 for each  one. This renewed
; k' I6 l9 t8 H; G* S% ]the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys
+ H, ]' v; v8 Dagain.   But soon the supply diminished even further and
they were ever harder to catch, so people started going back to
* [* z) h, s' ^0 g5 f  S7 L: i6 Wtheir farms and forgot about monkey catching. The man increased his
price to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so
sparse that it was an effort to even see a monkey, much
' |0 c3 _/ ~+ P) dless catch one.

The man now
0 B+ V4 i4 v$ ^# s/ Eannounced that he would buy monkeys for $50! However, since he had to
: v8 p: z) D) {8 Qgo to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his
behalf.

was away the assistant told the villagers. 'Look at all these monkeys
0 x/ N; P5 b- c7 I/ K1 M% ]8 u$ q0 hin the big cage that the man  has bought. I will sell them to
you at $35 each and when the man returns from the city, you can sell
them to him for $50 each.'

The villagers
9 Q$ E* B+ x3 krounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys. They never
saw the man nor his assistant again and once again there were monkeys
' S$ o2 b) u% ceverywhere.
