Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!Two computer stolen!

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My computer and my boyfriend´s computer were stolen in 19/Jun
I can not remember what time excatly did we went out.
But when the computer was stolen, the computer must be on and I must at that time log in as DROPHY in PingJu. How to find out the time when I logout PingJu, that is when Then computer was stolen. That is very important for me.
PLease help me!!!!!!!!!All my thesies were in the computer!!!

You may try the following:

1. Report to police.  我一个朋友在学校被偷了laptop,警察向她要Mac address(网卡上的地址, 如果你不知道, 看看买机器时document上有没有写.  在学校网(美国), 警察可以run一个程序, 如果偷computer的人在学校上网, 程序可以根据Mac address找到.  不过偷她laptop的没有在学校上网, 所以没找到.

2. 如果你的computer是连在一个local area network, and the network has "network address translation", then you can look at the logs of the gateway to see when the computer was disconnected.  My lab has "network address translation", but many networks do not have.

3. 如果你的computer在被偷时ssh到系里的mail server上(solaris or linux), 可以用"last"command查你logout 的记录.

推荐买锁计算机的锁.  我买了一把, 每回到实验室时第一步是把我的laptop锁上.

ssh是什么意思。另外，德国大学的实验室一般都佩你说的锁来锁笔记本，偶刚开始不知道它是干什么用的，呵呵

ssh(security shell)和telnet类似, 但ssh安全, telnet不安全. 用telnet也能看到记录. 我们lab没配, 几年前丢了一部desktop后,大家都比较小心, 自己带锁.

还有电脑的锁呢，没见过，不过LZ是怎么丢的，想不出来，难道把电脑放在图书馆自己去厕所了?
